Urbanara opens flagship store in Düsseldorf

By connecting customers of hand-made, fair traded furniture and home accessories directly with the manufacturers, Urbanara has already become successful in online world. Since starting in 2011, the Berlin-based company has grown annually by 50-100%. Today Urbanara makes a two-digit million EUR turnover and has a team of 70 employees. Now the founders Claire Davidson and Benjamin Esser have opened the companies’ flagship store in Düsseldorf. In the new store environment, customers can from now on experience the product quality first-hand, before the purchase.

Stylelounge closes new financing round

Stylelounge, the Hamburg-based shopping portal for fashion, closes a new financing round, amongst other investors with Rocket Internet, TA Ventures, Axivate and ASTUTIA. Founded in 2015, Stylelounge is today active in Germany, France, Netherlands and Switzerland. With the new financing, CEO Johannes Heinen and his team want to develop new features and expand the business further.

Bettenriese launches own brand BUDDY

With the own brand BUDDY, Berlin-based bed and mattress specialist Bettenriese extends the product offering even further. Besides the high quality, the product line offers the new Easy-Zip technology, which turns the mattress into a real piece of furniture.

2 Million Users: InterNations with Strong Growth

InterNations, the worldwide network for people who live and work abroad, reports strong growth. In early January 2016 the Munich-based company has recorded its two millionth member. In 2013 the company had the first 1 million members and has successfully continued on the expansion path. The network now organizes activities in 390 cities around the world. New Investment: Asanayoga

To improve health and find relaxation, an increasing number of people in Europe practice the originally Indian Yoga techniques. With Asanayoga, the founders Robin Pratap and Pascal Klein provide the community with a specialized shop, an online studio with exercises, selected travel offerings and a dedicated magazine. Successful Exit with Fashionette

With the sale of the stakes Fashionette, ASTUTIA has just realized another successful exit. The company’s new majority stakeholder is GENUI. In 2009 ASTUTIA invested together with NRW.Bank and other private investors in the Duesseldorf-based online retailer for luxury handbags and accessories. Today, with over 5.000 products by over 100 luxury and premium brands, Fashionette has one of the most comprehensive product ranges and a strong position in the market. Including the core market in the D/A/CH region, the company is now operating in 13 European countries.
